Fascinating colours, this is really a weeping cactus, commercially grown on a post or grafted onto a tall cactus. Ideal for a hanging basket. It is not a fast grower, with hairy like stems it can look like a mass of wild green dreadlocks. The fruit follow a short lived but spectacular flower and can take a while to ripen.

Pineapple Guava. Smaller 1- 3" fruits. Compact bush. A native of southern Brazil and Uraguay where it grows wild in the mountains. Delicious aromatic fruit, eaten raw or used in puddings, can also be preserved and made into jelly or sparkling wine. The flowers are also edible. Prefers a well drained soil, can tolerate partial shade but will love a sunny spot. It can withstand winter temperatures of -10c. Trees are 4ft approx
